About Vitiligo Voices Canada

Vitiligo Voices Canada is a vibrant patient-led support community dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals living with vitiligo can share their stories, challenges, and triumphs. Founded by Omar Sharife, Parsa Abdi, Shahnawaz Towheed, and Oana Durcau, the group fosters connection and empathy among its members through monthly virtual drop-in meetings designed to encourage open, supportive dialogue.

With an active presence on social media, Vitiligo Voices Canada engages a growing community, 237 members on Facebook and 41 followers on Instagram, using these platforms to address questions, concerns, and experiences related to vitiligo. The Facebook group serves as a lively forum where members can seek advice, share personal insights, and build meaningful relationships, while their Instagram page is utilized to promote events and disseminate educational infographics that increase awareness and understanding of the condition.

Committed to continuous growth and impact, Vitiligo Voices Canada is in the process of developing an official website to further enhance accessibility and resource availability for the vitiligo community across Canada.

By emphasizing inclusivity and education, Vitiligo Voices Canada empowers its members to embrace their skin, break down stigma, and advocate for greater awareness and acceptance of vitiligo in society. Their grassroots approach, centered on authentic storytelling and community-building, strengthens the social fabric of support essential for thriving with vitiligo.
