As December unfolds and 2025 draws to a close, VIPOC pauses to reflect on a transformative year of advocacy, collaboration, and progress in vitiligo care. This has been a year of resilience, marked by patient-led initiatives that amplified voices worldwide and advanced equitable health policies.
Key Highlights from 2025
VIPOC strengthened its global network, engaging over 40 member organisations across continents through continental spotlights from South America, Africa, the USA, Canada, Asia and Australia to Europe. We launched pivotal resources like the European Vitiligo White Paper, influencing policy discussions and research priorities [VIPOC, 2025]. Participation in forums such as the Vitiligo Task Force meetings and EADV elevated patient perspectives in clinical advancements.
Our carousel series educated on the latest research updates, human rights for vitiligo patients ahead of International Human Rights Day, and global health policy trends, positioning vitiligo firmly on the public health agenda. Advocacy toolkits empowered local leaders, while equity-focused content challenged systemic gaps in dermatology care.
Reflections on Our Journey
This year tested and triumphed in our commitment to ethical leadership and community empowerment. Patient stories of resilience inspired policy shifts, research collaborations yielded promising immune-modulating insights, and cross-continental partnerships fostered solidarity. Challenges like access disparities reminded us that equity remains our north star.
Heartfelt Appreciation
To our patient leaders running local organisations: your passion drives us. Researchers, policymakers, pharma partners, and healthcare professionals: your collaboration accelerates change. Every member, supporter, and advocate, thank you for standing together.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Entering the new year, VIPOC commits to bolder advocacy, expanded toolkits, and deeper policy integration. Together, we build a future of safe, inclusive vitiligo care.
Grateful for 2025. United for tomorrow. Share your reflections below. What’s your highlight this year?
